Located in South Indio, Whittier Ranch is one of the Coachella Valley's best values in new home ownership. This family community has spectacular mountain views, lushly landscaped walkways, a fully equipped community park and nearby schools, parks and shopping. Whittier Ranch features four floorplans ranging from 1,674 to 2,579 square feet. This 137 residence community features gourmet kitchens, beautifully appointed with granite slab countertops, impressive eight-foot entry doors and an exquisite collection of Italiante, Tuscan and Spanish architecture for charming exteriors of hand-finished colors and accents
One of the Coachella Valley’s original date groves, Whittier Ranch has been a part of the desert’s unique history since the early 1900’s. The Whittier Family called the ranch home until the 1930’s, but the most notable residents were General George Patton and his wife Bea. The couple often visited Indio and stayed on the ranch property during World War II while General Patton was training at nearby Chiriaco Summit. The Patton’s residence has been restored recently and now holds distinction as a protected historical landmark. The original water tank seen here was also moved to the Coachella Valley Museum and Cultural Center, where it too remains as a historical icon of Indio, the Coachella Valley, and Whittier Ranch.
